Have you ever seen a wonderful picture on Instagram and wanted to save it to your phone without taking a screenshot? Have you seen a video while going through your Instagram feed and wished you could have it on your phone so as to watch it even without data?
Are you a blogger or a social marketer that wants to make use of a shared video for marketing and wished to have it saved on your phone?
If your answers to all these are “YES”, then this post is for you. I came across a tech nerd that did this on his phone and I decided to ask him how he does it. I had to interview him and found out he had so many methods with which he can save Instagram pictures and videos for offline use.
Saving pictures from Instagram is an easy thing if you’re using your laptop but when it comes to videos, it is always hard but not impossible on laptops.
To save a video from Instagram on PC, just right click on the page and select “view source code”. From there, you can copy URLs that ended with .Mp4. if you paste the URL on the address bar, and hit the enter key, the video will download.
Below were the details of our chat and hope you’ll enjoy it. Sit back and enjoy the exclusive interview.
Andykeblog: hello sir, can we meet you?
Tech nerd:yes, I will like to remain anonymous please, for some issues best known to me.
Andykeblog: ok sir, please I saw you saving some videos from instagram and would like you to tell me about it so I can teach my audience.
Tech nerd: sure! I’ll start immediately.
Tech nerd: there are a number of ways for doing that and as a tech nerd, in my quest to finding the best way, I encountered so many and will do my best to remember all and share to the best of my knowledge.
WAYS OF DOWNLOADING INSTAGRAM VIDEOS AND PICTURES:
Using any file manager application: as we all know, the android OS just like seen in Windows and other operating systems, rely on files saved on the device to run certain applications. In other words, applications have folders that help it perform well. Some of these folders are hidden while some are visible.
To download or save Instagram pictures and videos using any file manager of your choice, follow the steps below religiously and you will achieve this:
> open your instagram app and watch the video or the picture you wish to download.
> minimize the app and open your file manager.
> Click on the “Android” folder.
> open the “Data” folder.
> navigate through the list of folders and locate the “com.instagram.android” folder.
> Open the folder and click on the “cache” folder.
> Open the folder and select the “video” folder.
> Inside this folder, you can see several files that when you click to open them will bring up the toast “the file format is not supported”. These files are actually the videos you viewed.
> For ease of location, click on the three dots at the top of your file manager app that brings up more option. Select sort and sort by time (from new to old).
> Then the first file you see is the last video you viewed. Press and hold the file till it is marked. Then rename the file by adding .mp4 to the name.
After renaming it, the video will show. It is then left for you to move the video to any location you want.
How to save Instagram pictures and videos using applications
Using the “video downloader app” from Playstore:
With this app, you can download Instagram pictures and videos without having to go to your device’s file manager.
Follow the steps below and you’ll achieve it:
> Go to Playstore or anywhere on the internet and download the application.
> Open the app, agree with the terms and conditions and then, grant it the permission to download videos and pictures for you.
>minimize the app and open your Instagram app.
> locate the video or picture you wish to download and click on the three vertical dots at the top right of the video or picture.
> select the “copy share URL” option.
>minimize your Instagram app and go back to the video downloader app.
> Paste the copied URL into the URL box of the app. It immediately displays the video or picture you want to download.
> select either the “download image” or “download video” option that appears on the picture or video. After this, the media will be downloaded and saved to your device. This can be viewed from your phone’s gallery.
Using the “GetThemAll” application:
This app works in a similar way with the one discussed above.
Just follow the same steps as above and get the video or picture downloaded to your device. As with the one above, they can be viewed from your phone’s gallery app.
Using the “EasyDownloader app” from Playstore:
This is the best application that I have ever used and the very one you saw me use. I won’t tell you the reason why I said it is my best app till I list the steps. You will see for yourself the reason.
Follow the steps below and get the job done immediately:
> Go to Playstore and download the app.
> Open the application and minimize it.
> Open your Instagram app and locate the video you wish to download.
> At the top right of the video, you’ll see three vertical dots, click on it and choose the “copy share URL” option.
> The application will immediately sense that you want to download the picture or video and immediately download it for you. The downloaded pictures or videos can be found on your phone’s gallery.
Did you notice why I said it was my favorite? Hope you did. But if you couldn’t figure out the reason, it is pretty simple; the app immediately starts downloading the picture or video after selecting the “Copy Share URL” option unlike the others that will require you to paste the URL before downloading.
I think that’s all I have to say on this topic and I hope your audience will learn a lot from it.
Andykeblog: wow! You are really a tech nerd and a teacher too. Your explanations are awesome and simple too. God bless you real good bro.
Tech nerd: And bless you too.
