Fiverr unarguably has changed its algorithm of how so many things work. Older sellers on Fiverr know how easy it was to rank gigs at first but as at the time of writing this article, it is very hard to do for some. This is because the algorithm got changed. I have personally studied the new gig ranking algorithm and found out some factors that are now used for gig ranking which I will share with you shortly and I will let you know how to rank Fiverr gig in a bit.

If you are a new seller on Fiverr, you might have not gotten any order and you are wondering how on earth other sellers manage to get theirs. The only way known by new sellers of getting orders on their gig is to reduce the gig prices to the minimum and then rely on Fiverr’s buyer’s request section. The buyer’s request section as well got an algorithm change which makes it difficult for new sellers to see requests that much.
Level 1, 2 and top-rated sellers see more requests than new sellers which are discouraging as well. And as we all know, for you to enter any of the levels, you will have to complete a number of orders and maintain above 90% rating on response rate, order completion, positive rating, and on-time delivery. But how on earth do you get all these as a new seller? I will show you in a bit
How can I rank my Fiverr gig?
Of course, ranking a gig on Fiverr’s first page is the dream of any seller on Fiverr. Below are the factors that determine gig position according to a series of researches conducted and response from Fiverr customer support.
Seller performance: this metrics is related to what I explained earlier. Your performance determines how your gigs are positioned (ranked) by Fiverr algorithm. But what is this performance? Simply put, if you have a response rate of above 90%, order completion of above 90% also, and of course, on-time completion of orders above 90%.
As one can clearly deduce, this metric tends to depend on the orders you get and the interaction with buyers and as a new seller, you might not have gotten any buyer to look your way.
How then do I increase this seller performance without all these you might be asking?
The only way to do that is to provide artificial orders to your gigs. You can do so using any method that is best for you. Getting others to order for your gig and you pay them, or you get them to order for it in exchange for any other things. This will ensure that you get 100% ratings, 100% on-time completion and 100% response rate. To get a 100% response rating, you can tell the person placing the order to chat for a while with your Fiverr profile for a while before placing the order.
Order cancellation: this is a major metric used by Fiverr as they want to serve the best sellers to buyers on the platform. This means that if you get too many order cancellations, then your gig can never get ranked on the platform based on any keyword used. To avoid this, ensure that you complete any order you get without cancellation.
How can I avoid cancellations you might be asking?
That’s a good question. If it will mean offering unlimited revisions on your gig, or appealing to the conscience of the buyer or refunding the buyer through other means and letting them accept it, then do it.
Delivery rate: How would you feel if you are a buyer on Fiverr, and the sellers do not deliver your orders on time? Bad right? Of course! Fiverr takes this into account and so, they tend to make gigs owned by sellers that deliver on time rank higher than others.
As humans, we might be met with situations in which we are unable to meet up with the time of delivery.
What do you do at this point?
You simply apply for an extension of the delivery time on the order page. Just access the order page and check for the option of extending the delivery time.
You can also deliver a part of the order and beg the buyer to give you not more than 3 days for the remaining parts of the order. This way, the algorithm sees your delivery to be on time and thus, rank your gig higher.
The number of deliveries you make within a given period of time also affect the ranking of your Fiverr gig. Sellers that deliver orders frequently get ranked more than others who deliver orders less often. To avoid this, ensure that you provide artificially induced orders as discussed above.
Responsiveness: This follows from the response rate. If your response rate is below 90% and the color changes from green to any other color, then the chances of the gig ranking are very low. To avoid this, make sure you get the Fiverr mobile application for your smartphone and always respond to messages from buyers on time.
The response rate should not be less than an hour space before you respond to a buyer. You should always be online and look out for new messages. This response rate also is checked for a specific period of time which can be seen on your Fiverr analytics page as well.
If it means inducing chats on the account from other seller or buyer’s accounts, then you have to do it.
Conclusion: If you are really looking for ways through which you rank your Fiverr gig, then you have to judiciously follow the tips and tricks discussed above. I have tried it on my Fiverr account and it worked like magic. It will also work for your gig and you are sure to get positive results.
