All you need to do is to walk into any First Bank branch near you and apply for it. Just like is done for normal debit cards that we all know.
Is there any fee charged for its issuance?
Just like the normal debit cards, there is an issuance fee of N1000 for the card.
How can I activate my First Bank Visa Multicurrency card?
If the debit card was sent to you through any means, all you need to do is to follow the steps below:
- Check the default pin that comes with the Pin Mailer. Always make sure the Pin Mailer has not been tampered with.
- Visit any First Bank ATM and insert the card
- Input the default 4-digit pin that is contained in the Pin Mailer
- Change the default pin by entering your own unique 4-digit numbers. It is advised that you destroy the Pin Mailer after changing the pin and to always keep your new pin secret
How will the card know which currency to use?
The system was designed in such a way that it automatically chooses the currency that is used in the part of the world that you find yourself in and bills you with it. For instance, if you go to the UK it debits you in Pounds, any other country in Europe, you are charged in Euros, and if you go to the US or any dollar spending country of the world, it automatically bills you in USD.
Also, the card requires that you choose a default currency for it. This default currency is the currency in which you are debited peradventure you are not in any dollar, euro, pounds or naira spending country. For example, if you are in Israel or Zambia, they will have to debit your account using the default currency you chose while applying for the card.
Can I apply for a change of the default currency for the card?
