Nysc portal is an encompassing platform designed for the National Youth Service Corp of Nigeria by SIDMACH. It has so many features and was designed to cater for most of the needs of prospective corp members and serving corp members. The system is awesome and we will be looking at most of the NYSC portal features in this article.

This is meant to help you navigate easily through the portal and get things done easily. Whether you are a prospective corp member or you are serving already. It is also good for people in their final year that want to know about the portal even before applying to serve.
NYSC PORTAL URL
the portal can be accessed through this link https://www.portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc1. Once the link loads, you are shown a screen that contains lots of other links to the other features of the site.
You can see links to view payment status for new corp members who are trying to register for the service, a link to contact NYSC PORTAL administrators, a link to Login (for already serving corp members and those who have started their registration process but are yet to complete it), mobilization link (if you are trying to register for the first time), and some other links that we will get to see what they are in a bit.
NYSC PORTAL LOGIN
To log in to NYSC PORTAL, follow the link https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc1/ResumePayment.aspx and enter you email address and password. The email you are to enter in the email field is that with which you used to register and also the password you used before.
Once you have filled the form, click on the “Resume” button and if the details match with anyone in their database, you will be logged in to your NYSC PORTAL DASHBOARD.
If you for any reason forgot either your email address or password for NYSC portal, you can recover the account by clicking on the forgot password button. You can now select whether you forgot your email, password or reset your phone number.
If you forgot your email, you will be asked to input your full name and phone number. For password, you are required to enter your email address and phone number. And lastly, for a reset to phone, you will enter your CALL UP NO and STATE CODE.
NYSC PORTAL REGISTRATION
If you are about to register for NYSC, that is, your name has been published by your institution in the list of people that are qualified to serve, then you can start you NYSC registration on their portal. Their mobilization is usually in batches and is not open all the time. They give a certain period for people to register and after that, the portal closes for registration.
If registration is on, and you want to register, then click on this link https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc1/CreateEmailOnly You will be required to fill a form with your email address and security question and answer. You then have to complete the registration process, pay the fee and then continue with other processes.
NYSC PORTAL VERIFY CERTIFICATE
The NYSC PORTAL has a feature that allows one to verify their certificates. This is in a bid to play safe and make sure they truly served or were given exemption certificates. This feature is good for institutions that wish to employ someone and wants to check if the person truly served to avoid scandals in the long run. Many Nigerians including the past minister of finance of the federal republic of Nigeria, forged exemption certificates and got government jobs with it.
To verify your certificate on the NYSC PORTAL, click on this link https://verify.nysc.org.ng/ On it, you will be required to click on “proceed to verification” button. For it to work, you will have to allow prompts on the website.
Once the prompt comes up, you are required to register for an account and make the necessary payments for the verification to be carried out. NYSC CERTIFICATE VERIFICATION is not free of charge but they have diverse options from which you can choose from to make your payments. You can decide to make payment through MasterCard, Verve, visa card, Remita, internet banking, etc.
NYSC PORTAL CHECK PAYMENT STATUS
On the portal, there is a feature that allows one to check their payment status. What payment status am I checking you may ask. Upon registration, you are required to pay the sum of 3000 Naira on the portal. Most times, depending on the bank you are making use of, the payment might be delayed and the network might be bad.
On the page, you will check whether or not your payment has gone through. You can check it through this link https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc1/Transactionstatus_Remita.aspx
NYSC PORTAL CHECK SENATE LIST
on the portal, there is a feature that allows prospective corp members (PCM) to check their names on their school’s senate list. This is important and useful because you cannot complete your registration if your details are not on the Senate list. This senate list is the approved list of graduates as released by your institution.
If your name is not on the list, it means you are not eligible no matter what you do. To check for your name on the list, visit the link https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc1/CheckInstitutionCoursesPCMs.aspx and filter the search based on your batch (the time that falls in when you graduated), the program you did in school, your institution and your accredited course. Once you are done, click on the “Extract PCM” button and check your name on the list that appears.
NYSC PORTAL VERIFY SENATE LIST
this feature is similar to the check senate list feature. The difference is that if you wish to just single out your name, without having to go through so many lists, then you can make use of this verify senate list feature.
To do so, click on this link https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc1/VerifySenateLists.aspx, then fill the form as required. You are required to select your institution, enter your matriculation number, enter your surname and then select your date of birth.
Once you provide all these details, you can click on the “Search” button and boom! It goes through the lengthy Senate list of your institution and brings out your name if it is on the list. If it is not, then it means that either your institution is yet to send the list to NYSC, or you have not met the criteria for graduation from your institution.
NYSC PORTAL ACCREDITED INSTITUTIONS/PROGRAMMES
On the portal, you can check if your institution and the program you did therein are accredited and allowed to serve the country. Most times, some programs in certain institutions in Nigeria churn out graduates while the programs are not accredited. This is a serious issue and if you check it out and cannot find your program, then you will have to go rectify it with your institution. To access the NYSC PORTAL ACCREDITED INSTITUTIONS/PROGRAMMES feature, click on this link https://portal.nysc.org.ng/nysc1/CheckInstitutionCourses.aspx
